Washington D.C. - Smithsonian Air and Space Museum

This museum is not located near an airport, instead it is located on the National Mall in Washington D.C. This is one of the most popular Smithsonian museums, and some legendary aircraft are preserved here such as Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, Bell X-1 and the original Wright Flyer. When we visited this museum back in 2019, the museum was under construction so only 30% of the collection was accessible. We will definitely go back after the renovations are finished. This museum has a larger second location near Washington Dulles Airport: the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.
